After joing as dejoux almost 7 years ago I have used Bullitt on all the forums Ive joined more recently, till now this was the only forum where I still used dejoux. As Bullitt is already taken this name is the closest you could spell it on an available personalised plate a few years ago (note I dont have the plate)

Anyway onto the new ride. I went down to Picton yesterday and picked up a 1995 Ducati 600ss. Theyre not overly fast at 53hp and 13.0 quarter miles but it seems like a good step up from my 250.

Couple of minor things to tidy up like previous owner replaced the handle bars and moved the footpegs forward (so your not so crouched over and its more comfortable to ride) however they only used normal bolts which have since rusted. Also the choke is broken with just a bare cable sticking through the dashboard...but things like that are simple to fix so Im happy.

Apoligies for the crap pic, was taken on the ferry yesterday

When I went down to get it when I got to wellington there was a guy in his 60s looking over it and while I was waiting to get off I had three people comment nice bike...so Im happy biggrin

Looks like an old minger compared to my mates new 1098S! I've always loved Ducatis and the 916 took styling to a new level but the detailing and finish on their latest bikes is finally good enough to compare with the Jappas.

I gave up my R1 when my eldest daughter was born (was that REALLY over 7years ago?) but sitting on this really got me thinking - that God I'm skint!
