Exhaust recommendations?
Discussion
Having tried every combination of assorted exhaust systems both with and without cats, I discovered that the best sound can be obtained with a standard exhaust with no cats.
The sound quality of a decat is far superiour to anything you can get with them on, but if you combine it with a sports exhaust, it just becomes too loud, and you lose some of the sound quality.
Just my observations of 53,000 miles in a Cerbie.

I was never stopped for being too loud, even when my car was too loud The cops expect TVRs to be very loud cars, so you could probably get away with a lot that the owner of a Metro wouldn't.
The cats are pretty ewasy to replace, as the 2 canisters just unbolt from their place in the exhaust system. You just get hold of a pair of straight pipes to replace them. It's just a case of removing 8 bolts to get the 2 cats off, and then replacing them. The only time that you can have a problem is if the bolts have rusted up (which is quite common, as they are exposed to a lot of heat).
Probably take you between half an hour and an hour to swap them for the MOT, and about 20-30 minutes to sawp them back.
