Wheres the chassis no. on a 1979 mini

Does anyone know where the chassis number is on a 1979 MK3 Mini???? Also, Do minis have a alluminium bottom bit of the engine as standard??? Answers much appreciated.

on a small metal plate pop rivited to the front panel (on the flat bit where the bonnet catch is) if its missing its probably had a new font panel at some time.
