Water ingress on 156
Discussion
Hi there,
Before I start pulling my car apart I hoped someone could help me identify the source of a leak on my 156.
My NS A pillar interior cover is wet and sometimes drips onto the carpet if its been standing in a downpour. I have a sunroof. Do you know if this is a common fault with the sunroof or door seals?
Cheers!

there is probably a drain pipe at the front of the sunroof cassette to allow water that gets past the seal to run out of the bottom of the car.
If the drain hole gets clogged with gunge water can back up and over flow into the car.
Also if the pipe that attaches to the drain becomes detached water will sinply run down the inside of your a pillar trim and into your footwells.
The bottom of the pipe can also get clogged and cause the pipe to back up with water causing an overflow and the weight of a pipe full of water can pull it off of he sunroof with similar results.
Open the roof
Look from the top into the front corners and see if there is a drain hole.
Remove any clag fron the area.
if you can remove enough interior trim to see where the pipe joins onto the sunroof cassette make sure it is still attached and not split
Try pooring a small amount of water into the sunroof cassette and see where it drains to.
It should pour out of the bottom of the car with ease.
all this assumes your sunroof is factory fit.
Also worth checking the windscreen for leaks.

Cheers to all for the advice. I sorted the pipe, yes it wasn't on the drip tray well enough so I pushed it on tighter and siliconed it. The outlet seems to be in the void in the engine bay near the bonnet hinge. There is a massive blob of foam that just pulled out and I could see that area had a short pipe into it.
