hi guys i have a question (agen) ive just replaced my inlet manifold due to a size diffrence in the flange on my LCB and the inlet. My new 1 fits well and no blowing from either. Take into account id did this job in the dark with a small halogen light , it took me three hours of frustration and ive just sat down to ask why is she smoking more than usual throught my tail pipe, its a big pipe and its very cold outside so there will be steam and smoke but it seems to much. I sat at a tee junction on test run and a cloud came from behind it looked very odd. it doesnt really smell of much but its light grey in colour. Now the blowing is gone i felt a difference in power, but it was set up recently with the blow and no oil in my dashpot (this was a so called tuning pro who done this) which caused a huge flat spot. Now ive fixed these problems could the mixture now be wrong and be causing more smoke if too lean or too rich. thanx in advance..neale..

Yes. If the car is out of tune this could be the reson for the smoke. My mini was smoking rearly badly on a badly tuned carb. I fitted a recon card and had it tuned and it passed the MOT no problem and with no smoke. But of course that is not 100% garranty that there is not anything else wrong with you car, but at least a good starting point. Good luck.

thanx mate. it was more than likely steam cuz it was real cold lastnite but today it looked ok. Its still holding bak on power and feals to be running real flat, i guess this may be down to the tune up now (i hope) everything else seems fine, she starts extremly well on cold and warm starts, tickover maybe a little high it sits at about 1000RPMs but think it should be about 850/900 at idle have you any thoughts on this problem. thanxs...neale...
