Hi guys.
I have a caterham7 but aspire to an Ultima.
I know that the first decision you have to make for a right hand drive new build (other than whether it is to be a GTR or Can Am) is whether to go for a right hand "racing" gear change or a left hand/central gear change.
My question is directed to those who opted for the right hand change - namely, how do you get on with it, do you prefer it to your daily driver gear change or, given your time agin, would you now opt for a more conventional central change.
I would have thought this was a question a number of aspiring owners might ask but I couldn't see it on a search - apologies if it has been done to death before.

Never been a problem and works well close to the steering wheel. It is like hiring a left hand drive car. Takes a day or so to get used to it but after that it is normal.

No problem at all and IMO adds to the experience. The change is very close to the wheel which is good. Takes no longer to get used to than any other performance car with, say, a quickshift or gated shift.

Frees up more space in the cab too. Mind you, you have to be carefull getting in though. It's not a cool look trying to free your trouser leg from the gear knob!!

(err-hem...not an issue for the can-am ladies biggrin)
