Right - the story. When I bought my cerb, a previous owner decided that it would be a good idea to cut off the ends of the stainless steel sports exhaust and screw on twin chromed mild steel trims .

These not only rusted but did not fit cut-outs, made it neccessary to have the exhaust hanging on the floor so it did not hit the bodywork and hence caught on everything else

A few weeks ago after much searching I found these trims and they are now bolted on with sleeves, so that if I want to track-day, they can be slid off and mufflers bolted in their place. They are large enough to fit your hand and a spanner inside to do up bolts !!! & are virtually the same size as the cut out in the boot floor. Whilst I would not suggest chopping off the original pipes, in my case I had no choice so I am quite chuffed with the result. Comments welcomed (I hope).

These are 3 3/4" internal, 4 1/2" external. A snug fit in the boot cut-outs one might say

Has anybody else on here done anything interesting with their exhausts? I'm currently planning on having some Tuscan style cans on the back in a few weeks, but am open to alternative ideas.

Cheers,

-JS

[Edit: suffolkfox... yours are looking good, by the way]

Looks like you made the best of a bad job, and they don't look too obviously Maxxed. Not sure I'd do it to virgin pipes though.
