Just had a friend call me to see if I'm still in one piece?... he has just gone out to Acaster Malbis near York for a quiet drink and has come across a bright red Griffith smashed to smithereens. Just happened, police still on scene.

It looks like the driver may have taken a blind bend at some speed and rear ended a slow moving vehicle of some description.

Sorry to be a bit vague, but if you know any local drivers of a red Griff (or Chim just to be on the safe side) call them now!

Fingers crossed for the driver/s.

Now if only the other car had been travelling at a higher speed, the accident wouldn't have happened...

At least its only slight injuries.. Bad news about a totaled TiV, but at least those involved seem to be ok..

C'mon peeps. I need to know if this was my baby. apart from anything else the guy who bought it was a real-life PHer - just another one of us having a good time. I hope it wasn't him.

If it was your old car I suspect it looked very little like that after the event

My mate said that the only bits of red left were the nose cone and the boot!

I thought about it but I don't think he would've appreciated me telling him to go and check out the number plate!

So long as the driver is ok then that's good enough. However, it is sad that the number of Griffs on the road is diminishing - and quite quickly too.

I had romantic ideas about buying it back some day. Let's hope I still can!
