for the evo find out info and possible cars for sale on www.lancerregister.com very helpful bunch and will tell you all info etc you would require about it.
personally with the money i would go for the evo (i have one) as there are not many about and look much better than the scooby (personal opinion). however its what your style is really. i dont know what scooby's are like to maintain or anything.

hopee that link helps and sorry for my waffling

It all comes down to taste to be honest. Both cars are very simular and in terms of performance there is near nothing between them. I have driven an Evo 9 FQ MR 360 which was seriously quick and an 07 Sti which also felt very quick, although not as quick as the 360 as you would expect.

I liked them both, but i honestly prefered the Impreza because of the sound more than anything else, the fact that the Evo is more rare is a real selling point though. All i would suggest is try both and see which works for you, dont ask people on dedicated owners clubs because you will get the obvious answers. Good luck with your search mate, either way you cant go wrongbiggrin

A 2005 Sti is £220 a year tax if i remember correctly.

The truth is you need to drive both and decide which *you* think is best.

I found eveos to be too twitchy - not nervous, that's not what I mean, just hairtrigger. I decided I couldn't live with that but hey now I'm here with the edgiest scoob of them all....

My personal feeling is the Evo is more extreme, the scoob has more character. But that's me, now over to you smile
