Okay guys,

In a little situation here, am thinking of jumping from a evo 6 to a M12 GTO,

But am completly in the dark!! as in average running costs, parts, reilablty, where can i get it serviced, and how frequent does this need done?

Also when are the major services recomended IE timing belt etc? And wheres the best for insurance?

Any responce welcome!!

Craig, I have an E6 TME and GTO3. The Evo is definitely more reliable but I am not sure the running costs are that much less. As you know the Evo needs servicing every 6 months (or 4.5k miles), the noble intervals are 12 months. Typical prices for a 6,12 and 24k service are 550, 650, 750 at a noble dealer (Christopher Neil). Both great cars, but the noble has a lot more depth and is a much more special in my view.

I'm paying £630 for full set of Eagle F1 A tyres fitted on Thursday

I have just paid £40 for a front ball joint plus one hour labour

Fuel-wise I am averaging around 5 miles to the £ (£35 per 170 miles)

Ins cost me £650 (Tescos)

I have a 3R

yikes - Not 5 mpg, 5 miles for every £1 of fuel smile

That works out at (if my sums are correct type ) 23mpg

(if fuel is £1.04 per litre doing 170 mile on £35)

Craig

I have an Evo 6 TME and a Noble 3R. Both are good in their own ways.
The Evo is definately more reliable and the running costs really do depend on how the cars are driven / tracked etc.
The evo is more expensive to insure than the noble.
Both cars are a joy to own and drive though !

So Can you realistically use a noble everyday?

I ask as currently have a porsche and quite frankly I am not sue I like the 'image' that owning a porsche seems to impress on people... I've also found that Nobles can be got for 20k now which really makes me tempted as I know how good a drivers car they are and that is THE most important thing for me.

Now I've built an Ultima before so know how to weild a spanner, but the car would need to be used for business use so would need to be reliable as an everyday car (although I will have a back up plan)... and 24mpg sounds good to me!

Oh I dunno. Think it depends largely on which one.
Bit silly given how good most of them are but that's people....
