Tuscan rear screen

I have a Tuscan Red Rose (2001), and it is to great - apart from one thing - the rear screen squeaks so much I am going to go mental. It is fine on days like today (ie not in the car at all), but at any other time no matter what the weather/temp it is unbearable. I have tried felt strips over the rubbers, to no avail. Any ideas please?

Hi Nick! I have the same problem with mine (and I'm sure most others do as well!)
I was told by the garage that the best 'trick' is to smear a little good quality silicon grease around the rubber and this will prevent the squeak and keep the rubber from deteriorating!
Haven't tried it yet as mine's in for its first engine rebuild
Any other ideas anyone?

This can be fixed by skillful application of very rare and hard to find TVR "Special V" tape. This aftermarket modification has been applied to a handful of owners cars with 100% success.
I have some "Special V" left over, probably enough for a couple of cars....I will supply FOC but fitting would cost at least 2 pints

21TVR's right. Search older threads for this and there are plenty of suggestions.
My rear screen was like a mouse chorus singing mouse songs in falsetto. As I wanted a 'single fix' and not repeated applications of slippy goop or tape which lifted at the ends like that which TVR put on the roof panel, I opted for the velcro along the top edge of the perspex and it totally eradicated my rodent problem.
I also put a strip of velcro along the bottom where the edge of the boot lid was scuffing the perspex.
All quiet now - nothing to interfere with that bum tingling exhaust note.

The squeaking is caused by the rear screen rubbing on the body work, most owners have found fitting the fluffy side of Velcro to be a good solution, this has worked fine on mine too, but sometimes I stilll get a squeak, if this happens, I just have a look at the screen where it goes in to the roll hoop, and one side will be catching on the end, a quick adjustment over to the other side by a millimeter or two and all is ok
I have thought of putting a marker pen line on the edge of the screen on either side of the roof catches at the bottom, so I know it is lined up correctly - but havent done that yet

They do - I have it fitted to my car, the screen was fine at first as TVR had designed it. Then, after some use, it was noticed that a problem emerged, not a problem from new, a problem from extended use. So, TVR and their dealers came up with a solution, they use the fluffy side of Velcro along the screen top and it works. As for the location, well they redesigned the screen so it had a locating lug between the catches - see, TVR do listen, and they do update designs as they go along.
Yes they could have run a test car for 5 years in all sorts of weather over all sorts of roads, but then the car would cost a lot more, so they test as much as they can given their limited finances and then when problems come up, they develop solutions.
It is a bit like Mercedes with the A class, they launched it and were very happy with it (and this with the full might of being a German car company and having lots of testing budget) but lo and behold, a single Moose avoidance test (and who had heard of that before the A Class!) and they have to recall and redesign the car - see, it is not just TVR that improve designs after they have launched the car.
Now please give it a rest, you had a car that was not to your satisfaction, you rejected it, you got your money back, now leave it at that
