I believe the cheapest way to do a road legal Tuscan is to put Tuscan bodywork on a wedge. Is this true, how easy is it and more to the point how expensive ?

I thought you just buy a tuscan racer and put a big V8 in it?

There are normally a few for sale... around 20k
- depending on spec.

I've never heard of someone putting a tuscan body
on a wedge though...

Why would you want to ruin a perfectly good Wedge?

Why would you want to drive in a Tuscan that couldn't live up to its reputation?

I saw a 'Tuscan' at Le Mans a few years back that was a Tuscan body on a Wedge chassis. There's a picture lurking about somewhere.

I think I can answer this. Tuscans are more desirable (sorry Steve) than wedges due to their rarity and racing aura. Whilst a Tasmin/Tuscan 'chimaera' is not a true racing Tuscan, it could be made to look the same and still go damn fast and loud. It's an exclusivity thing. Personally I love the shape of the Tuscan and the only thing that might draw me away from the Griffith is a roadgoing Tuscan with full 'S' style interior and roof.

I found a guy selling three Tuscan racer shells, chassis, motor etc for sale

Rupert wants about £2k for each 'bundle' but you may get a shell for a lot less. He also has moulds I understand.

You can contact him on 07890 462232 or on this email phil@cridlake.freeserve.co.uk

I have some photos he emailed me if you are interested I can mail them on...

I suppose it is the replica vs the real thing issue. Just think it is a lot of work to get something that is neither one or the other.

It has been done before - The guys at David Gerald did this to a 390. I saw it throw a rod through the block at Oulton a few years ago.

There are a number of road going Tuscans out there. Grant_Tuscan I think has the black one that last year was parked by Thames Valley Racing and this year with Insane Racing - I have some pics of it floating around somewhere.

We did a track day on Tuesday at Silverstone with our two seater Tuscan everyone and I mean everyone that saw the car on the way to and from the circuit stared and once it was there, forget the Ferrari's there was even a Diablo there who's owner was more interested in the Tuscan !! The cars do attract a lot of attention, so they're not for the
