Hi,

Can anyone tell me what spec. adapter I need to fit an American Speed engine to connect a oil temp guage?

I have ordered a VDO guage and the people I have bought it from donot what adpater to send with it.

Not enough info really. But I take it you will have an electric gauge and a seperate sender. In that case you may find the sensor is a one wire device with 1/8" NPT thread, that is what I have used and is fairly standard.

Phil,

Yes it is electrical with the 1/8" sender.

Where does this attach to the oil system or do I need to order an adapter as they advise.

I don't know what your setup is. I have a remote filter adaptor and I tapped a hole in that. Ideally you will want it in the flow. For that reason I am not 100% sure if putting it up with the oil pressure sensor is the best place, although the easiest. That is the tapping on the top of the block at the back, you could then just use a readily available brass type T adapter with 1/8" NPT ports. You may even have a suitable adapter, I do, so that the pressure sensor can fit on the side of it, the top port is blanked off.
