Thanks to a splendid 'above and beyond' effort by Andy Mcloughlin at APM the car was ready for Saturday afternoon collection ... thank you then to Andy and to Peter at Adrian Blyth for all their efforts!
I started to well-up just through hearing the sound as it was started up and brought around to the front of the building for me!

Lovely run up to the New Forest yesterday with my fiancée... first picnic in ages but great excuse to get out now

Temperature seemed to be a little high throughout (but I put that mostly down to the ambient and even in traffic it stayed below an indicated 100) and central locking from the centre console seems to be not working but I'm sure that will be fixed under warranty!

Quick question though: what are the mph/revs on a Chimaera 450?
From my recollection, in 5th mine is indicating about 80mph at about 3200 which would peak at less than 140mph at 5500 which seems a little low - I would be expecting 80 at less that 3000 revs.
Should I be getting the speedo checked? Any other ideas?

My 450 hits 80 at exactly 3000rpm in 5th.

The bible has a set of charts that give the speeds/rpm in all the gears for all the different tyres sizes. The excel spreadsheet used to do the calcs is on my web site in the Tyre FAQ.

Ahh, I was wondering who bought S85 APA. It was sold to AB by a friend of mine for cash. He originally bought it used from Fernhurst when they were a main dealer.

If you've any questions, let me know and I can pass them on to the previous owner.

I'm curious to know how much you ended up paying for it. e-mail me offline if you don't want to tell the world. AB bought it for a pretty good price but I think it needed some work doing to it. It was a couple of weeks before it appeared on his web site.

One other thing - I saw on another thread, before I realised that this was the car you'd bought, that there was a problem with the windscreen wipers. It was raining on the day my friend delivered it to AB, and they broke down on the way there!!

Richard.

As far as I'm aware, the central console knob thingy/light locks the doors so you can't get IN from the outside - you can still twist it to get OUT ...

I do know this as I locked myself OUT at the Chatsworth meet with the keys in the ignition and the engine running (in the rain).

Don't ask me how.

Thanks again to pbrettle's umbrella which saved the day.

That's what I thought ... mine won't lock the doors or do anything when pressed (I assume I'd hear a solenoid 'clunk' if it did) and seems to be permanently in one position.
Adrian Blyth have said that even though it's not under warranty because it almost certainly was there on delivery they will pay for it to be fixed.

Definitely a clunk missing there, but I don't think the button will change position.

A bit late, but I get about 85mph at 3000rpm. On Saturday it wouldn't quite reach 5500rpm (probably about 5300) which I assume was to do with the bad weather more than anything else. That got an indicated 147mph or so.
