New 5 Speed Box. _ Where from?

They seem to be in short supply.

I would try a Ford dealership first.
Ford MTX-75.

Is yours definitely knackered? I found that I got the car home when the diff went without damaging anything else. The box came out, had the diff fitted with a small refurb and the guys at the garage reckoned it was still in very good shape. They also mentioned that the MTX-75 is a hardy old box anyway.

If yours was completely screwed as part of your failure then I guess you're in the land of hoping that whatever box you get (whether new or reconned) is a good one. Are you having real problems getting hold of a new one?

I have my original one that has only done 6000 miles and was only changed because of changing to 6speed.
