Grand Canyon Tours - PLEASE help me...

We're off to california next week, and are all booked up with the exception of the Grand Canyon tour..

We want to do a "Fly from Vegas to the South Rim" type tour, preferably with a helicopter ride too...

The problem is that after many hours scouring the internet and giving ourselves many headaches from reading so many thousands of reviews... the only conclusion we can come to is that all the tour companies are a bit dodgy!

Surely there must be a reputable one that does what you want of it!?!?
I just read a positive review, followed by a negative one, then positive, then negative... and so on.
Whereas with hotels there's usually a concensus of opinion with only one or two rogue reviews, the canyon tour reviews seem completely erratic and mixed all the way from loathing and furious frustration all the way to uphoria.. for EVERY tour company.

PLEASE HELP..

If you've been on an air/ground tour of the Grand Canyon (from Vegas) please post up your reviews/opinions of who you picked and how it went.. any info would be greatfully appreciated..

How long are you going to be in the States for and are you basing yourself solely in Vegas?

Last time we went to the Grand Canyon we did it by staying in Williams for two nights and took the train on the day in between.

If you haven't got the time to do it this way please feel free to ignore this as completely rubbish advice.

It was only an alternative suggestion if you had time to do it that way.

Did a trip with Sundance Helicopters a couple of years ago. Picked up at Hotel by Limo to airport. Full safety briefing etc. Flew by helicopter out to the canyon with a very good commentary on the way re ground formations ,extinct volacanos etc,couple of laps over the hoover dam on the way and down into the canyon for breakfast.Flew along canyon some distance and then back to Vegas and flew along the strip. Reckon its the best trip i have ever done
