Just curious where this is located on my 06 VXR. It read 30' earlier today and trust me it wasn't that warm. Eventually it lowered to about 18'.I assume it lives somewhere it can heat up quickly whilst standing still in the sun.

'tis down near the front in the rad-ish area (that's the area of the radiator, not any place where radishes or indeed any salad vegetables may be growing in your car)

Oh and they all do it Sir.

few on here have replaced theirs already - its a fairly cheap part to buy as its common to some other car, bigwheel on here I know did his, could maybe drop him a pm and ask for the part number, or try a search on these forums for past threads.

I've seen mine up to 46 after a good run and then sitting in the sun for a while. If you've ever got out of the car just as the fans kick in you can appreciate how much heat the engine can give off.
At the other end of the scale I've got a picture of it down to -12 yikes

A while back, the outside temp display started reading too high and day by day climbed to a ridiculous level. Consequently, the climate control wouldn't give heat to the cabin! It was winter and I was about to go on a trip. For quickness, into my local bog standard Vauxhall dealer, bought sensor for an Omega, about £10. Exactly the same part as CV8. I changed it in 2 minutes. Sorted and on my way.
