Had my A/C re-gassed again today for the third time, this time they put 900g in, all well when stood there, but when driving it seems to get warmer.
Any ideas, as it seems the "so-called" local A/c specialists don't know.
Steve.

Had the system lost pressure since the last fill?

Are you absolutely certain the by-pass coolant valve is fully shut?--you should be able to drive without the A/C on and have air no warmer than outside temp coming through the vents when the fan switch is in one of the "outside air" positions.

System is holding pressure ok, just wanted to try different amounts of gas to see if it would make any difference to the performance.
Where is this by-pass valve?

Steve.

Check this earlier thread and links for info on the valve and where it is located:

Mine ran better with 950g.
It sounds like you have a heater bypass valve problem, there is no mixing box on the Noble so you are using air that comes through the heater matrix, if you have even a small amount of bypass you will cancel out or even overcome any cooling the A/C is providing.

If it's cool when stationary and warm when moving then it sounds like a bypass problem.

Thanx guys, going into local garage 2morrow, will get them to check this valve first.
Hope it is the problem, as I have a long drive after, up to Trevor for a re-map.

Found the problem, it was the by-pass valve not shutting off fully, when we removed the plate we could move the actual valve a bit more after the control knob was fully counter-clockwise, (cold).
Only question is, how do you adjust the cable/valve, didn't want to start taking things off without knowing as i need to get the car up to Mr Jasper tonight, so have left it manually shut-off for now, at least I get some cool air into the cabin.
Your thoughts please.
Steve.

Any chance of a picture of this valve as my heat dial is cold when on cold but move it a bit and its hot so no adjustment. I think this might be std but there maybe a bit of adjustment still there.

Ah, nice one. Looks like it will be a bit of a pain to see while under the car?

Unfortunately, that is the basic characteristic of a bypass valve--it is more like an on/off switch than a true temperature controller like a blend door in a proper HVAC system.
