Have been wanting to do something with the wheels for ages, and finally got around to having them painted in graphite grey. I had considered black, but I think once the tyres go a little grey, it looks odd, so stuck to my original plan. The car was also detailed by a friend of mine on Sunday, and the paintwork look better than new again...

Thankyou! The tail pipes are down to me really. I have a thing about keeping them clean, so I always give them a quick going over with a polish like Autoglym Super Resin, or if they've not been done for a while, some brasso cloth stuff.

and I thought I was being anal polishing the outside of my exhaust pipe - lol, that's some shiny exhaust there, could eat my dinner off that.

Looks fantastic. My pipes look like that (I'm the same, they get cleaned weekly - and inside) - I'm about to have my wheels done but I can't decide on a colour...

Looks great - same colour as mine nearly - good choice and you can get away without giving the wheels that thorough clean every time you wash it!

Man, I have definitely gotta get me some 19 inch VXR alloys. I really don't like my CV8 standard 18's. I'm liking the grafite colour too. They would match my graphite Wortec stripes quite nicely

Does anyone know what I could expect to pay for a full set of VXR 19's?

How much did the wheel colour change cost?

WOW!

How much for the wheels? I was going to go black on my spare set but fancy this colour now!!! Stunning, bloody stunning! Well done!

To import a brand new set of VXR/HSV R8 alloys, you'll be looking at near enough £1500 with import duty (mind you, depends on the current Aus $/GB £ exchange rate). Don't forget you'll then have to budget for tyres...

Vauxhall won't (can't) sell them to non VXR owners, so unless you can find a scrapped one, that's your only option.

Hi Andy,

Looks great - debating what colour to do mine? What you done with the front fog lamps? Looks in pic one that they are not there? If you have a spare I might know a potential buyer

As I've just found out, HSV dealers won't sell HSV parts unless you give them the VIN of the car.

Tempy, Have you thought about after market rims. My local chap got me new rims and the rubber (Pirelli P Zero Nero's 245/35 19's) for just short of £1700 inc VAT. Now to be fair they're shiny alloy finish with black insert and inner rims, but hey, the colour choice is whatever's out there.....

Hey Groutie. I think it's gonna be my only option. Shame, as I do like the VXR spokey alloys. I'll try and find a nice set of after market alloys. Didn't realise they would be that pricey either. I might have to stick with 18's anyway, as I'm not sure I have the wheel arch clearance for 19's as the suspension has been lowered quite a bit.

Tempy, rims AND rubber for £1700. Not that expensive I'd have thought. Worked out about 50/50 split for both. I needed new rears anyway and the Nero's seems to be wearing better than the Rosso's which were stock

Tunstad... yeah, fog lights are out in the pic, because the glass in both shattered after a motorway trip a few weeks ago. I suspect it was a gritter I passed on the way. Stupid gritters. Think I might just leave them out really, as they don't have much use anyway.

Tempy... Painting was about £350 I think, and that was for 5 alloys, one of which I know have as a spare in the right colour.
