Merc owners club

Having just bought a 320 CLK, part of my insurance terms are that i need to be a member of a Merc owners club. Can anybody recomend a club with a minimal (or no) joining fee.

There are 2 owners's club as are as I know. The MB club and the MB Owners' Club, both have a subscription fee. I'm a member of the first one and it costs £30 per year plus a £5 joining fee.

They could be referring to the only member's club officially recognised by Mercedes-Benz, with is
"The Mercedes-Benz Club" http://www.mercedes-benz-club.co.uk/

I'm a member, although I cannot remember how much I pay per annum

Other than that you have "Mercedes-Benz Owners" http://www.mercedesclub.org.uk which I'm not a member of, so cannot comment.

I am a member of http://www.mbclub.co.uk though, which is a great forum site. This has no fee.

Mercedes Benz Club is great value. Insurance discount, good website/forum, monthly mag (Gazette) plus big, glossy quarterly (Mercedes Classic) that I only just found out comes through the club, quarterly directory, events and friendly membership.

For £30/year that's an awful lot!

And no, I don't work on commission!

May we ask who the insurer was? Why do you have to be a member of a/the Mercedes club? You're not 17 are you?

No, im certainly not 17. I have the car insured as a "modern classic" and one way to secure a discount is to be a member of an owners club.

CLK? Modern classic? How much did you save and with who? I have a CLK, too!!

Mercedes-Benz Club is the "official" and recognised club. I am a (not very active) member and highly recommend it. The approx £30 annual subscription is worth it for the monthly magazine alone.
