I'm thinking of spraying my rear "Monaro" badge black, to give it the stealth effect against the black car, but I'm just concerned that if I don't like it and want to restore it to chromey, will I be able to get a replacement easily enough?

Would have done just fine if they'd sell it to me! What's that all about?

Will have to keep looking.

I don't mind helping obtain hard to get stuff within reason......ie bonnets, wheels do not apply!
That particular seller is a Holden dealer or I am pretty sure it is. Reading their ad, it looks like they don't mind sending stuff overseas?
Those badges are from the CV8R which was a limited edition model. The Lions are also available in that colour.

Sorry if I've missed something but why don't you remove the paint if you don't like it?

Hmm, that looks good!

@Boosted - If I painted the badge myself and changed my mind, I didn't/don't expect that paint would come off the chrome badge and leave the chrome intact....?

Paint should come off with some thinners. Only issue is you probably should rub the badge down with some fine grit paper first to ensure the paint sticks if you want it to last.
Although flaking paint is probably very fitting with these cars biggrin

biggrin

I do also have some HSV decals, in something close to this design , which another forum member gave me when I bought something else. I would have put these just in front of the rear wheels, low down, if they had been black, but they're a gunmetal/silver colour. If anyone's got any black equivalents and wants a swap......wink

This bloke seems very good to buy from, quoted me reasonable shipping from Aus to the UK. Only just bought from him, so I can't yet comment about the quality of the product, but here's hoping...

I don't think you need worry. I've used them on a couple of occasions and they've been very good.
