Hello.

I've recently bought a big bumpered GTi 16v and I'm loving it so far. I want to get it looking it's best again and would like to replace the front bumper. My questions are -

1) I've seen plenty of aftermarket bumpers available, these are usually around a 3rd of the price of the OEM VW items. I can imagine that the non-OEM parts are cheap and do not fit correctly. Am I right to think this? Is it worth saving my cash and buying a pattern bumper?

2) Where's the best places to source parts such as bumpers?

3) What's the best forum for MK2 Golf's?

Cheers

best off trying to get a genuine bumper. GSF ones are crap, they dont fit properly and are 3 piece construction with horrible screws along the top edge just under the grill strip.

You should be able to find a genuine one on ebay/scrap yards or similar for no more than 50quid.

Bare in mind GTI 16v big bumpers are different to ones that came on late spec GLs and 8v as they DONT always have fog light cut outs.
