Guys
Is there an easy way to tighten up the wing mirrors?
My drivers side has a mind of it's own and needs to be stiffer to stop it moving everytime I drive over a crumb.

Once the mirror and backing are removed the next step is to create some drag on the slider to help hold the mirror position.
1. The slider will most likely be covered in white grease. Remove all of this grease from the slider and mirror frame.
2. Remove the slider from the mirror backing by folding it flat against the backing.
3. The slider will then just lift off. Fig. 5

4. Once the slider is removed, clean it off with alcohol to make sure all the grease is removed.
5. Cover the convexes (top) side of the slider with electrical tape. Trim the tape to fit neatly
6. In most cases tape will only be needed on one side, but if your mirror is extremely loose tape can be added to both sides. The tape creates the needed drag to help maintain the mirror setting.
7. Snap the slider back into place on the mirror backing.
Reinstalling the Mirror
The mirror and backing is reinstalled reverse the removal technique.
1. Be sure to first get the spring wire set in place, and then put the slider into the mirror frame.
2. Next set the mirror and backing into the clip on the tilt plate. This will be on the door side of the mirror assembly, no matter what side of the car your on. Fig. 7
3. Finally, gently push the mirror and backing away from the car with a screwdriver just as was done when removing it. It is helpful to put some light pressure on the outside end of the mirror so it will set in place on the tilt plate. Fig. 8

I just put a rubber strip under the mirror to hold it in place!
