[Chassis 33]

Folks, I'm considering getting one of these, I've spotted one, on a G-plate, manual box, sub 100k. What do I need to look out for, the only problems I've been able to find are the usual BMW spongy front suspension bushes thing and engine trouble if the cooling system isn't 100% (otherwise the engines are unburstable...apparently)

Any thoughts?

If its the 535i Sport check the slippy diff
Check the state of the underside of the exhaust and its mounting points
On test drive get upto 70 mph and brake....any shimmy through the steering column shows the disks will need replacing.
Check a/c blows
Headlights are weak may need a xenon upgrade
Check all electrics
Look for rust around fuel filler door
Look for rust around front jacking points
Make sure the doors shut well and that they are not rubbing against the bodywork or have dropped
Rear subframe bushes will need replacing
Change all fluid inc gearbox oil.
Change brake pipes
The sunroof if it has one may have rusty rails, just lubricate.

I have an H reg slush o matic. If you have a look at my profile to see what has been needed on mine it should give you a fair idea on what to look out for! Fantastic car though, would love a manual but seeing as most of my driving is round the M25 it is so much easier with no clutch pedal. I bought mine through Old Colonel Cars, he is not the cheapest in hindsight but does have some intersting cars now and again.

Hope you find a decent example, they are brilliant cars. Love em.
