Hi guys

My friend is excitedly awaiting the arrival his 520d, which is equipped with Bluetooth.

One question he had was whether there are microphones in the car with the Bluetooth option for using with his mobile, or whether he will need to install them.

I said that I think there will be, but your confirmation will be appreciated.

Many thanks

It's all there, all he will need is the cradle for the specific phone. Once paired with the car it should work.

The cradle isn't strictly required to use the bluetooth capability but allows use of the car's telephone aerial i the roof fin and saves having a charging lead rattling around.

If he uses a Nokia with a Symbian OS it won't send the contacts to the car.

The only way this works is by selecting each contact and manually sending business cards to the car.

I think the max is around 60 contacts per phone.

If you look on the BMW website, there is a list of comaptible phones. The list even shows if you have full functionality or partial.
The only annoying thing that I have found with the set up is that if you have multiple numbers (home, office, mobile etc) set up for a name, you are only able to access the default number through the I-Drive -- unless someone knows a way around this!
