Have had full service history by BMW but can't find the book anywhere, will BMW have this on a database?

Yeah, they can usually give you a print out of whats been done,
Not sure how much a new service book is though, but they do crop up on ebay (blank)

I think the last time i bought one it was a tenner or something. If your service history is not with your local dealer, find out who it was with initially, phone their service department and ask if you send them your new blank service book, will they put the relevant stamps on it.

Yes, it's not a problem. As long as you can prove you're the owner of the car the dealership should be able to trace all service records within the maindealer network and then issue you with a newly stamped up book...this will usually have the word "Duplicate" in pink across all the pages...but it's not a problem.

Service books are available on e-bay and you can get OEM books from one seller without the "duplicate" stamped over it if you give them your chassis/reg number. £30 I think.

You can then get it re-stamped at the dealerships.
