If any one is interested, the Vectra-C.com Owners club will be there also, Some of our group are VXR owners. We are usually parked next to the Helipad in front of the VIP building. Come and say hello and sample the BBQ! Or if it's wet get some shelter under our marquee (lol)

Vauxhall have highly recommended people arrive at Oulton Park as early as possibly i.e. 0830, this will facilitate getting everyone infield and parked before the infield area becomes heavily congested as it can be which will lead to problems accessing the parking area, therefore it may be best to pass on the pre meet/convoy and just get yourself to the track so you dont face any lenghty delays getting in.

need more people to sign up as well, there were only 71 names down this morning when I last checked, just because its north of Birmingham doesnt mean you need a passport to attend!!!

free bump. guess everyones busy this weekend then going by the response - less than half the tickets usually up for grabs taken. Poor stuff as the racing this year has been fantastic as anyone who saw Matt Jackson at Croft move from 18th on the grid to almost win it on the line, or Giovanardi in race 2 couple of weekends back scythe his way back through the field with some superb driving after being bumped off the circuit. Far more entertaining than even Lewis Hamilton in F1 and Vauxhall were giving out free tickets!

Problem is Bob is that Oulton park is quite a way north...and as most of you norverners well tell us, we are Southern Softies....

Places like Rock, Donny and Silverstone are central and will pull in from everywhere.

We have the same problems with numbers at Brands and Thruxton because its too far south.... except for you that is... never miss a chance of a free ticket eh?

well at around 250 miles each way, after Knockhill and Croft this weekend's event is as close as it gets for us. After hotel and fuel and the other ticket for the mrs the free ticket is the least significant part of the weekend.

If I'd had the time off I'd have been down to Norwich for the last race but had to content myself with watching it on ITV4. Croft in the torrential rain at the start of June was amazing action - got some great short video clips from the 2nd corner with the cars all going round it completely sideways, apart from Plato of course who dumped his car into the wall at the first corner on the warm up lap lol.

Just seems a pity that the numbers attending have been steadily dropping - this weekend will see more people from the forum attending a Thurs night meet at a pub than attending a motor racing event so is it any wonder we think you're all a bunch of southern softies

After all its only about 30-40 miles north of Birmingham, 2-2.5hrs from London at most on the motorway - an easy day trip. For that matter I could do it as a day trip from here - did it a couple of weeks back when I went to collect the engine and charger from the breakers and that was in a transit van! We've gone from 30-40 owners from here attending to I think 6 this weekend - too many people sitting at home polishing their bonnets instead of taking their cars out for a run laugh

Numbers dropping is probably more to do with the amount of the original enthusiasts selling up an moving on. Mind you, would have thought the VXR8 attendee numbers would have been higher.

Would have gone to this, but the topic slipped out of view. Shame really as I'm only just over an hours drive away.

yeah there was something going on with it being sticky then not then sticky then not and then moved into the sticky events thread. as you say though it could well be due to the number of members who have sold up and moved on. Even the corsa and astra owners cant be arsed by the look of it. Still I'm looking forward to adding another circuit to my list of venues I've been to and should be a good day's racing. Suits the Vectras so hoping for some good results for the VXR Racing team.
