If it's just for a trip to mainland europe don't bother. Many of us never have. Otherwise, if you look at the headlamp lens you should see a triangular shape to one side in the middle of each lens. This is where the triangular wotsit you should be holding in your hand sticks onto. Basically, from the driver's seat it blocks the beam from going left (to the verge in the UK, into Jacques eyes in France).

I wouldnt know what car but any with 8in round will do, so Mini, Midget, MGB, Beetle, Land Rover and iam really struggling now, Scania truck. It might be easier and cheaper to make your own. Drive up to a brick wall so you can see the dip beam shape and with your hand remove the high LH point, simply using masking tape do the same. It will be a kind of "wedge" shape.

I think you will find sticking bits of black plastic on the headlights will not work correctly.

The proper ones sold have a reflective back, so will reflect the light back into the headlight to come out correctly.

If you stick plastic tape on you will loose light output......

Al, we went over to Lille for a week earlier this year. I didn't actually bother with converters or GB sticker, coppers et al were too busy looking at the car to worry about incidentals.
However, on mine (1996) the headlights actually have a kind of triangle evident in them, mark those out and yo will be fine.

Tres joilee voiture monsiuer, tres jolieee!!!

Thanks sportie something else to ponder reduced luminosity

.Mark I’m pleased you still talking to me after standing you up regarding pie on the beach.
My absence believe it or not it was due to a French student who resides in Lille!

(Please keep me informed as to what’s coming up later in the month.)

I’ll take your comments on board, I got the kit but ain’t stuck anything on yet. I’ll probably do it as and when/if I need to.

No worries Al, There's always next year. I'll probably see you at Fernies before then.

Your French student didn't happen to come accross a Chimaera being driven around did they? Caused quite a stir I can tell you - Although I did keep it in the lower gears for longer than usual!
