Just serviced (4 Year Service) and MOT'd mine for about £250 incl VAT, was about the same lasty year. Anyone thing I'm being ripped off?

Check the Monkfish site for their servicing rates. Pretty modest costs I'd say. Tend to charge what they say too, unlike with certain German cars I've owned.

Wow......that sounds quite reasonable, not much dearer than the Skoda i'm running at the moment! I think i'll go and view a few this week while i'm off work.

My 1st service was a staggering £172! ...that was from a Vauxhall dealer too. (Sherwoods - Darlington)

Not surprised; an 'approved' dealer a few miles down the M11 from me has a labour rate of £100 + VAT per hour. Add a bit of oil and a filter at dealer rates.....

Fortunately Monkfish is easy enough to reach and my beast will soon be booked in for its' next check-up.

£100/hour...! ! ! Lambo garage was it!
Sherwoods was very well priced and I'll be making the 350 mile round trip again at the next service interval.

Just been quoted £320 to do a 30k service at the local VX dealer... Monkfish is £190 according to that link. One hell of a difference.

Only issue being - one is 20 minutes away and the other, 2 hours...

I rather missed the irony in your original post didn't I? Just that my 20k-mile service at Monkfish was a good few quid less.

I do wonder whether the main dealer to which I refer charges the same for a Vectra or Astra. Can't see them getting away with that.

What better excuse to have a great drive in the Ro than having to go to the furthest Ro specialist you can find!
Get a mod done at the same time and it gives you plenty of time to test it out AND think up excuses to the other half (and yourself) why it was justified!!!

Yes, we can do it while you wait. We have a "lounge" with wifi, playstation etc, plus our now infamous tea.

Do you have an "annoying customer who wants to nose around and ask silly questions about cars" option? That's what I would want to do smile
