Instrument Panel Removal
Discussion
Hi folks,
Standing in the pit lane at Knockhill on Friday evening discussing car reliability and said mine was fine, touch wood. Well it was obviously plastic wood as I get back into the car and the oil pressure light has stopped working.
Have checked that the sender unit is not the problem: remove wire from sender unit, place against engine, turn on ignition = no light.
So before I go and do more damage, can anyone provide tips/info for removing the small rectangular dash, containg the speedo and rev counter, from a 1989 400SE ?

Tried reaching behind there?
If you can't...
On mine, the wood effect bit is held to a steel panel with one bolt at the bottom middle. That panel then has 4 corner fixings. Mine was loose when I bought it so I used penny washers (clamping on the corner of the surround) and nut and bolts to suit as there didn't seem to be any holes for it. It is extremely tight behind there and took a while.
