Im looking to change cars soon and as many of us who are into our cars know, I cant make my bloody mind up, shall i get this or that, what if i do this ill be able to get one of these... you know how it is...

Anyway one option is an Alfa 159Ti either the petrol 2.2 or diesel 2.4...

But my question is thus... I see that Ti's dont come with sat nav?

How easy (£) would it be to have it retrofitted?

(Anyone done it?)

Thanks in advance
Lee

The optional Alfa satnav is expensive and pants. I saw a very nice installation on AlfaOwner that someone had done on a Brera or 159 (same dashboard) with a double din Pioneer stereo/satnav. Matched the dash really well.

indeedy, with a super duper tomtom at under £300 (plus in dash fitting of maybe £100) don't buy the Alfa satnav.

get the diesel if you can live with the noise - it has grunt! especially with a remap.

The 2.4 JTD makes a decent noise to be honest, especially when you are pressing on. It's only really nasty when it's idling clap cold and you are stood next to it deicing the windows. It would certianly be my choice over the 2.2.

Thanks for the link.

Ive never been a fan of tomtoms, but ill investigate to see how 'OEM' they look.

Ive driven a 2.2 in the past and it was brisk enough for the daily commute, but ill give the 2.4 a try. There a nice one for sale near Southampton so Ill have a look at that in a few weeks if its still for sale.

What sort of performance figures would a remapped 2.4 be achieving then?

Ive never owned a diesel, so it would be a big step for me...
