ive been looking at a weekend car to sink some cash into and make a ongoing project.ive been offered a 96 328 coupe which looks nice in standard form but does need a lil modding.would love to see some pics of this model just to see how good this car can look with a lil fettling.i know the e46 is better to most but i still like the e36 more. thanks.

Maybe take a look at the "Show me your BMW" thread on this very forum?...

I tend to think the E36 looks better than the E46 .... but there are quite a few pics on the show me your BMW thread, but a lot of pages to look through. Some standout black E36 coupes, and the blue can also look stunning. Slightly dropped, decent set of alloys and NO OTHER visual mods .... imho they look cleaner without the boot spoilers.

The only modding it needs is under the skin. Please don't stick bits on it.

Upgrade the suspension, stick some decent brakes on it, BBTB and manifold, then leave well alone and just enjoy it.

I'm inclined to agree with the above statement but the e36 can be tastefully modified with little effort.

Mine started out as a standard 328 albeit loaded with options.

Seeing those pics of that immaculate black coupe makes me cry for mine .... okay, it didn't have the wheels (it was running the stock BMW 15" alloys), but damn those cars look good! Damn my loins and fathering another child!!!!

I'm still massively fond of E36 328i Sports. Boston green with the tan leather and original BBS alloys please. I'd happily give up my E46 for a mint one.
