Well at last my clubsport ran today with many notable positives...

Was dead on 100db showing 3 yellows so got on at Combe - a miracle and thanks to Radical's new quiet box, 4db quieter than the last one!

My winter rebuild included new wishbones, serviced shocks, new calipers, new rear disks, new wheel bearing and some other stuff and all checked, finished and superbly setup by Graham at crew at Lanan racing. They did a superb job including changing a very dodgy chain and front sprocket, fitting a proper extinguisher, fitting my new DL1, changing a master cylinder, bleeding brakes and a full geo setup.

The car ran very well and I was setting it up to run without my wing (just in case I ever get to race in the rad club cup - next year now) which it did very well.

The only probs a have are a mysterious slight coolant leak onto the undertray and the LHS drive shaft spweing grease. So actually the rebuild isn't quite done as they really need re-packing!

Combe was fun and the rain only rained at lunchtime and the end of the day. I tried many and varied lines through Quarry (mostly by accident) and didn't kill myself!

I couldn't quite get the DL1 to work, so don't have any data on what was going on.

Anyway it was a great day, big thanks to Graham and co for the setup last week and being very flexible for delivery and collection!

Check the overflow pipe from the expansion bottle as it normally gets kicked out of there after a few spirited laps.

yep, I had that one venting through the undertray to eliminate it.

It's quite strange as I can't see any sign of where it comes from apart from it being on the undertray. It looks consistent with the housing that the lower hose from the rad is connected to, but again that all looks dry.

I ran it up to temp over the winter and couldn't see any leak, so it must be when it is being driven with gusto. It's not massive, but enough to run across the undertray to the edge.

I'll have to get it up in the air to look for witness marks.

Tks

So, found the coolant leak is actually a clutch fluid leak. Looks like it is coming from the housing for the salve cylinder/release bearing thing. Needs more investigation unfortunately, but at least it's not coolant!
