With the introduction of the new Porsche "doppelkupplung" PDK gearbox in Porsche's new models, anybody thinking of using this type of gearbox in the Ultima? smile

If the ECU for clutc operation is a stand alone box then it would be nice but if it's not then I guess the programming of the ECU will be very difficult.

Heard that the PDK box is around 20kg heavier. Don't know if it can deal with all the torque of the big hp V8 engines used in Ultima builds. Neither the GT2 or Turbo have this box for the moment, but I can imagine that it will be adapted for the 2 top Porsche models.

PDK stands for Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, or "Porsche double-clutch gearbox". It comes with the 2009 911. At this point, it will likely be the most expensive part of your Ultima smile

Ah so it is a silly double clutch then.... Probably cheaper to get a Sequential Gearfox Box, and alot lighter....

Hey Clive, what's the weight of the Gearfox gearbox? Do you know how much hp/torque can that gearbox handle?
