I'm pretty sure it's either a relay.
We had a very similar fault in our old '99 A6, Dad parked up in a multistorey in London, came back to find the rear windows down and the fronts half down, the next day, I was left in the car whilst everyone was in a warehouse looking at flooring tiles, I got out to go in as I was bored, locked the car, as i walked off, the windows started opening and closing and the hazards were flashing really really fast, they then stopped, started again, the door locks went crazy as did the windows. Locked & Unlocked with the fob fine, but every now and then the windows would open themselves whilst driving. I'm pretty sure it was a fuse or a relay.
Earlier in it's life, after either the left or right indicators were lesft flashing for longer than 30secs the respective lights would stay on static until turned off, turning them back on again switched them on and static again. Agin, fixed with a new relay
