Bloody accelerator cabl esnapped tonight, 12 miles from home

And a sevice at offord tomorrow

Had to drive home with some rope through th ewindow under the bonnet to the accelerator any one want a race, im sh!t hot at trottle control with my left hand now. Bloody things.

Offords is only about 15miles from so should get it there tomorrow ok, but whats the chances that they will have a cable in stock:scratchin:

Reminds me of a tall tale a friend told me years ago of a local motorcyclist whose throttle cable broke, so he tied it to his knee. Negotiating an island, he cranked the bike over and put out his knee..........

Most likely a load of bull, but funny nonetheless.

Well I must admit it does bring a smile to my face , but at least its not too serious and easily fixed, and so much better than the throttle sticking wide open!!
Your car by the way is a beaut, I can see you have spent a lot of time & money on that one. ( quite a few tears as well no doubt.
some advice regarding cam followers, mine when cold sounds very smoothe good oil pressure 40 psi at idle, when hot 20 psi at idle but sounds very tappity, is it worth changing to solid lifters and does this quieten things down at all.
anyway hope you get sorted quickly, Im begining to carry an extensive range of spares around with me now so I will add a throttle cable to the list , at this rate Ill end up with two cars by next summer.
