Hi guys

Had my car for sale on both here and autotrader for a little while now with no serious interest - is it overpriced? I've tried to pitch it realistically. I know there are some on here which are cheaper but I think for the mileage/condition/spec its about right.

Be interested in your thoughts, whether it be re the advert, price or other.

I'm no expert on the pricing of these but the advert seems fine - nice pics, informative, well written etc so I can only guess the price is a bit high. Proof of the pudding and all that. Sorry...

I would try £4995 and make more hay with the pre-2001 Brown-tax avoidance.

Even then, with all the crunched creditors out there...

The market is utterly dire at the minute.........in truth you could price the car at £3995 and still not sell it, not the car, or the ad, just the market.

Cheers for the responses guys - I feared what PCD said about the market, I've already dropped some off the price and its made no real difference so guess its just a case of sitting tight and waiting.

Not sure whether I feel better about it or not to be honest!

Looks a lovely car and I think you will find it's the market not the car.

I agree - the market is flat. And if you are forced to keep hold of it for longer than you planned at least its a good 'un.

soprano,

I recently sold my 330d. It took longer than usual and I dropped the price over the 6 week period by £750 or thereabouts. It was priced bang in the middle of similar cars on Pistonheads and Autotrader. The first person to view it bought it. It only takes one serious buyer.

I had plenty of idiots calling or e-mailing me asking what my best price was and I told them. The silence on the other end of the 'phone usually gave the game away, and none of them followed up with a visit.

Good luck with the sale of your 328i. It looks like a cracking example and is sensibly priced IMO

If only!

The market is vertical downwards!
