Don't laugh but where is it in the engine bay. Dealer says that it has a black cap with a dipstick attached ( yes! me ), but I cannot find anything like this.

Lots of groans from the power steering so I want to check the levels before I go any further.

If it's the same as a 325i then looking at the engine from the front of the car it'll be on the right, low down under the inlet manifold.

Seen that, thanks gents, just a little awkward to get to. Is it really just a matter of twisting off the top to check and top up if needed?

Yep, a real PITA if you've got a carbo/kevlar airbox like my mate has on his M3.
