Hello all,

Am thinking about getting an 840 Ci sport, Anything to watch out for?

Is 102.000 mile to high with fbmwsh?

How much should one pay on an 1997/8 with 53,000 miles.

Thanks Everyone...

I particularly like the ones with the 'Individual' interior in black with contrasting champagne leather and paintwork in Atlantis Blue or Velvet Blue. I have my eye on this at the moment. It was quite a bit more when it was first advertised and I'm wondering if someone will snap it up before it becomes such an irresistible bargain that I have to go and have a good sniff at it!

As long as it's been well cared for it'll just be nicely run-in at 100k miles!

I've been keeping an eye on prices for some time. The age/mileage you are after will likely be advertised at about £10k. As for what you should pay... Well, it depends how many other punters want the same car and how much any of them are prepared to pay. If it's advertised at £10k then you might get it for a bit less or possibly a lot less if there are no other takers - Depends how badly the seller wants rid of it I suppose. The car I'm looking at was about £12k and is now £10k. I'd probably start taking an interest if it got down to £9k and make them a cheeky offer of a bit less if it all checked-out okay.

Get yourself over to 8er.org if you've not done so already as there are some very good pre purchase reads.

100k + is nothing for these cars, as long as its been well looked after, I would suggest prior to buying any 8 series you have it inspected by a reputable company as these are still a 60k + car to run and maintain.

Like any other car they're only worth what people are prepared to pay for them.

I'm now in my third year of owning my current 1999 840, it had 50k on it, was the perfect colour combo for me and had all the extras I wanted, okay I maybe payed over the odds for it but after spending six months of disappointed viewings all over the country I had found the one and wasn't willing to let it go.
