Guys,

The West Yorkshire TVR CC have managed to secure the full 4 mile oval of airfield at Elvington Nr York, which I believe no other track day organisation has managed in the past. This consists of two 2-mile straights with fast hairpins at either end. This gives enough room to really open up your car in a safe, police free environment. Speeds in excess of 180mph are achievable given the right machinery.

The day will be fully marshalled with ambulance/paramedic on site and will be run in accordance with the TVR Car Club Track Day rules.

We should have a good selection of TVR, Ferrari, Lotus and the odd Skyline, Scooby, EVO etc in attendance already but do need a good few more attendees. Any one who is interested in coming, drop me an email at garry.foster@talk21.com and I'll send you the full details. Cost is £60 per car.

I'm not so sure it will be 'police free' as the last time was there we had plod taking video and numbers!

Plod would not disclose what he was up to, but he hung around for about 2 hours. We thought he may wait outside the airfield to check everyone's tyres or to make sure no-one takes their track antics onto the public roads.

I would recommend covering up / removing your number plates if he does turn up.

What time does the day start ?
I should be off that day but alas am having to cover an afternoon so could only attend 10-12:30.

Maybe not worth it for a blast but may be worth a look.

Recent Lotus Esprit Turbo SE purchase would like to meet 2 mile straight......

Many Lotus Owners in East Yorks ?

People say the Esprit looks dated, but I think it still looks absolutely fabulous and still quite contemporary.

I must admit, with all the probs I have had with it, I still love it. The track day was the icing on the cake. The speeds achieved were frightening!
