Just wondered if anyone can shed some light on what sort of discount you might expect if you were to buy a new one now, rather than wait until 1st March.

I'm thinking of buying a used one, but want to know what kind of deal I could get new as the one I'm looking at is almost a year old but is only a few grand less than list. I would've thought that in the current climate, dealers would give their right arm to get rid of one of these juice gobblers!

I got 6% off mine at the peak of the "we don't need to give a discount on this car, we can sell our allocation at full price easily" maddness, for a delivery May last year, so that's a starting point!

Use www.broadspeed.com as a reference point.

They supply uk cars from uk dealers.

Just checked - they are offering 12% off a new 135i M Sport Coupe.

That's usually my starting point and I've always managed to get my dealer to better the best 'UK dealer supplied' internet offer I've had - on price and finance.

Thanks guys. I'm off to Sytner's on Monday, so we'll see what they have to say for themselves. If they won't play ball, I'll just go elsewhere - there's enough dealers out there.

Tell them you will cheerfully order it through broadspeed, and dont let them get all 'snooty' about imports or 'not competing with internet showrooms' - remind them that broadspeed is a front for the inchcape group and you will happily buy at their discounted price.

If you cannot get much more off than that consider a different model which has lost more value recently such as a V8 M3.

Do Sytners ever play ball? I'm on my 6th BMW and have never ever bought one from them. Complete waste of time IMO.
