TVR Experience Shared
Discussion
Hi All, This is my first post on the board and I thought I would introduce myself and share a few of my TVR experiences. I have owned 3 TVRs over the past 6 years, S4, Grif 500 and currently a Tuscan S. During this time, I have covered over 40,000 miles and they have been mainly trouble free. I currently commute across London everyday in the Tuscan and have covered 14k miles in 18 months. It was low loaded away once due to a motorway blowout (hardly TVRs fault) and it has been off the road for the past 5 weeks after a London Taxi forgot to stop behind me at a red light.
I feel that the company has come a very long way in producing a reliable everyday car and I would not hesitate in recommending one to anybody who has their doubts. It also makes a fun change to have some individuality when parking in what feels like a Porsche showroom each morning.
Bottom line, I know TVR have had have issues in the past (most car co's have) and I know there are a few on this board that have had problems with recent cars, but there are alot of people who have had issues with modern Fords, BMWs and Porsches...but nobody ever likes to talk about that!!! Here's to the future of TVR and I for one will not hesitate in buying another one, a 4 seat T550R would make an excellent family choice.
Looking forward to future dicussions and meeting up with some of you if there are any more nights out.
Cheers Steve

I have moved jobs twice, so different email addresses caused a few issues and then I forgot my password and never got around to sorting it...and before I knew it...38 months had passed.
Promise to be more active going forward, great to see there are some other TVR success stories out there!

Good post that, you say about Porshes with issues, my mate has an N reg 993, same age as my Chimaera on pulling into his drive the airbag discharged bruising his ribs etc! The car was subject to a recall and when it was in Carrs Porsche in Exeter last year they failed to do it! The scary thing is he was doing about 80mph five minutes before.
The case goes on.
