I have recently bought an e46 330ci sport the only thing that it does not have that i would like is heated seats will the wiring be there allready and heater elements in the seats or am i being naive and this will cost the earth.

No, the heaters will not be in the seats, as IIRC the heated seats were also the electric with memory.

My seats are the electric seats with the memory function does this mean there is a chance they will have the heater element.

If I'm right the buttons will be on the panel below the climate control panel just in front of the gear selector if you have nav.

Heated seats are a slightly different construction. The seat and squab has heat protection around it and as a result the padding is thinner to accommodate. Result is the same pad thickness and comfort. So you can't just slide some elements in! Also I think only available on sports seats. You wont have the elements, as they would be wired in! you should however have the loom. You will be very lucky to get some.

ok thank you for all your responses. i was hoping i might get lucky and it be easier. the car is a sport with the memory seats but it is not to be.

Yeah that's a problem for me too. I've got the sports memory seats, in leather, and if there's one thing that spoils the car its the fact you drive everywhere with a frozen @rse !

Guys like B-Trim in Endfield will retro fit heating elements etc into seats, in addition to retrims and lunbar supports etc. Look them up and discuss what's possible.
