Anyone know whether you can update the foam air filter at the front of my 450, cos its so near the front it looks filthy and im concerned it will affect performance, is k&n available as ive used them before?

unclip it - take it out of the housing, into a bucket of warm soapy water, and wash it, followed by clean water and then dry - hey presto ! otherwise £50 for an K&N from www.actproducts.co.uk

The standard filter is a Pipercross item, there are no power gains to be had by fitting a K&N most people report.

Don't forget to impregnate it with foam filter oil afterwards though - I bought my oil from a motorcycle dealer. After cleaning the filter with some white spirit, stick the filter in a carrier bag with some of the oil and squeeze the filter to soak up the oil, then let it drain before refitting.

Just brought a K&N for my Chim. No real reason why, just looks better and gives me a nice warm feeling inside
