Hi All,

This is my first post so go easy. Just bought the above car on a 55 plate, it states it is the 261BHP model, but cant seem to find it anywhere, is there such a thing?. Also anything i should look out for on this model?. and finally it has done 60,000mls. When would the "big" service be due roughly and at what cost, any recommendations would be appreciated as i'm up in Aberdeen.

No, there is no 261bhp model. It is 231bhp.

Yeah, sorry my mistake, just looked at the reg document again, you are right it is the 231 model.

The 'big' service is an Inpection 2. You have a countdown on the dashboard when you first start the car showing when the next service is due (in miles). Have a look at your service book to see what's next... it goes: Oil Service, Inpection 1, Oil Service, Inspection 2, Oil Service, Inspection 1 and so on. I've just had a quote of £270 inc VAT for an Inspection 2 on my '04 330d Touring at a local Indy.

Thanks Mike, i'll have a look in daylight tomorrow. I would have preferred to go main dealer for the BMW stamp etc, but think i may follow you down the Indy route with genuine parts. seems like a fair saving. Perhaps i wont get top dollar when selling it again but i intend on keeping the car for at least four years. Had a look at your car on your profile, quite fancy that style of wheel for mine.
