I need to get some back lit number plates made up for my Chim. Can anyone tell me where I can get these from and how much they will cost? Ta.

www.fancyplates.com

loads of options and you don't have to have an annoying 'made by Halfrauds' along the bottom - mine just have the TVR logo & an England badge!!

You must state when ordering that you need backlit for a TVR - I queried it with them at the time... good firm, fast delivery!

OK, I've looked at their site, and now can't decide what options look best! I reckon they look better without the flag and stuff on the left, though it would be nice to have the TVR logo there or on the bottom border.

Anyway, please can someone help me to stop dithering!

Oh, also, is there somewhere on the online ordering form that I can say it's 'back-lit' or for a TVR or something?

You can call Patricia on 02881 648999 and give her the order direct (she has a very sexy accent too IMHO ).

Ask her when she sent mine will you?

Just phoned fancyplates about a set for my Chimaera, backlit rear plate.

They said they can do a translucent rear plate, but it isn't reflective - and so probably doesn't really meet legal requirements - can anyone who has ordered these confirm? I'll probably go with it anyway since its v unlikely to be picked up...

Cheers,
Neil

I have an bog-ordinary rear plate on my Griff. Nobody minds and the MOT guys wave it through. During the day it looks totally normal and at night it's illuminated by the lights of the car behind.

The one proviso is that it's a second car and doesn't do much mileage after dark. Perhaps if I was crawling along in Plod-infested suburbs every winter's evening they might have a word - though I'm sure they'll be too busy seeing if I'm on the phone!
