As a follow up from my little mishap last weekend (see here) I'm weighing up the pros and cons of having the car fixed from my own pocket instead of through the insurance.

I've spoken to a couple of bodyshops (one TVR specialist and one local guy) and both seem to think that it would be a nightmare to patch over as it's such a complicated part of the car, with the grooves, curves etc etc), so I'm on the look out for a replacement nearside quarter (wing and headlight section), I know they come as a whole front end, but someone out there must have used an offside quarter and have a nearside quarter lying about the place thay want to sell to me for a nice cheap price!

A local body repair guy I spoke to today said he'd just need the very front of the wing and headlight section and he'd mould it into the undamaged part of the car, is it possible to just buy this section?

Any suggestions or ideas welcome.

Cheers guys and gals

I'm way ahead of you mate!! It's gonna happen no matter how I get the car fixed!!

That and a new front respray are the only good things that'll come out of this!!

Have you tried TET mouldings or the people who do the headlight conversions? I'd expect them both to have a front quarter.

Try www.bellhillgarage.co.uk i know they have a whole N/S front wing, maybe they might have a damaged one themselves that has a good/repairable front corner??

Get out your angle grinder and go hunting - try to get the right colour too.

A sharp knife should do the trick

Thanks for all your replies chaps, and also thanks to everyone who has mailed me offline offering either panels, fibreglassing or both. I'll be contacting you all shortly to get prices etc

Also, one last question, where is the best (and by that I mean cheapest!) place to buy the headlamp upgrades (unfitted). I think it's the speed 12 style that I'm after.
