Driven to work in this mornings deluge, went to start the car half an hour ago, and it cranked once, and then lost all power then nothing.

Went to open the bonnet, and it sparked into life again with the MIL light on, tried to start it and it goes dead again, anyone got any thoughts on what could be the problem, just phoned the AA (looks like I could be on first named terms again!) will try and get the car relayed to the TVR centre to have a look tomorow.

Happy days!

Sounds like you've got a flat battery - didn't leave your lights on by any chance? Otherwise it could be a poor battery terminal connection or the engine earth.

My money's on one of these 3. Hope you get it sorted without too much grief.

thanks for the reply, deffo not a flat battery, as occasionally tries to power up, at which point plenty of juice to open windows etc

Glad it turned out to be something simple. If it was the negative terminal, its a bar steward to get to.
