Does anyone know how to disable the alarm. The handbook mentions holding down the button on the key whilst locking, but this just appears to unlock it again.

Yeah I found the same - I followed the instructions in the hand book to lock the car without setting the alarm for a (rough) ferry crossing.

As you say all it did was unlock the car Worse still when I opened the door the bl00dy alarm went bonkers

Yes, it does appear to unlock the car but leave the alarm on.

Hmmmm. I'll bookmark this thread - if anyone has found an alarm system thet does what the standard system should do I think I might replace it.

I had loads of trouble with the Meta on my Chimaera so I was thinking along those lines anyway.

If you hold down the button when locking the car, after the initial double indicator flash, keep holding the button and you'll get an extra single flash. This indicates the immobiliser is set, but the alarm is disabled.
Although I've never tried it to see if it works.

My TVR handbook doesn't say anything about being able to disable the alarm.

The little cards from Meta say if you hold the button down for longer, you get an extra flash and the interior sensor is disabled. However I find the same as the others here, that it just unlocks the car again.

Having talked to the dealer they suggest that TVR replace the standard ultrasonic interior sensor with a microwave one and this maybe why the disable interior sensor feature doesn't work.

The Meta cards also say to count LED flashes to see what set off the alarm. TVR don't fit that LED, which is a pain as my alarm goes off now and then I have no idea what triggers it.
