Hard Top for Griffith

What sort of advantage do you think you'd have with a full hard top compared to the semi-rigid solution currently used?Rob
Primarily for looks, it WOULD be different.
Secondly, although my car doesn't leak, I'd feel better taking it out in the rain. Just a personal thing really.

Just because it is a hard top... doesn't mean it can't/won't leak. If you really want a hard top... get a Cerbera...
I realise that Steve. As mentioned, it would primarily be for a different look option.
As all my money has gone into the Griff, which I can't part with, a Cerbera is'nt a valid option.
A hard top would only make sense if it offered better all-round visibility and reduction of leaks.
My Griff doesn't leak, and has excellent all round visibility.
Certainly not trying to start an argument, even though I am exceedingly pissed (you would not believe how long it took to write this message without typos). But it's pretty damn good as it is.
Assuming the water ingress through the top is down to two things: rear section permeability and seal inadequacy.... the rear section is easily sorted with Thompsons Waterseal, etc. The seal problem will be the same whether a standard TVR top or a hard top. The standard TVR top panel design beats the shit out of Lotus, etc. and is waterproof when the windows are up.
If the Griff had a serious rear visibility problem (like the MK1 MX-5), which it certainly doesn't, then a hard top may make sense. But the Griff is already 80% a hard top already..... so I reckon not.
